OER Nursing Essentials (ONE)

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and Rice University’s OpenStax are working together to increase access to nursing education – reducing financial barriers and helping to improve workforce development. The ONE Project brings together expert faculty, competency-aligned curriculum, and openly licensed resources. After a robust editorial and production process, the collaborators will publish comprehensive, peer reviewed textbooks serving eight highly enrolled nursing courses. Faculty can confidently adopt, integrate, and customize the offerings, and students can access and use them at no cost. The vision and coverage of the textbooks are rooted in the AACN Essentials Competencies, with coverage of knowledge and skills addressed on the Next Generation NCLEX.
