The Adapting to Innovation (AI) Initiative offers a range of community, networking, and professional development opportunities tailored for any interested individual in higher education. These programs are designed to equip educators, administrators, and staff with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an era of rapid technological advancements. From workshops to webinars, these opportunities foster continuous learning, enhance institutional effectiveness, and empower higher education professionals to lead the way in innovation and growth.

Facilitated Learning Network Program

This program is designed to help participants adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI (GenAI) in higher education and its application in teaching and learning. The program provides an overview of the current Artificial Intelligence landscape of higher education, explores the foundational components and pedagogical implications of integrating GenAI into higher education curricula, and gives insights into real-world examples and applications.

Program Objectives

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the current state of GenAI technology and its impact on teaching and learning in higher education.
  • Explore the pedagogical foundations, best practices, and ethical considerations for integrating GenAI-powered tools and techniques into higher education curriculum design and delivery.
  • Gain insights into real-world examples and case studies of GenAI in practice.
  • Foster collaborative learning and knowledge sharing among participants strategies and tools for adapting to the changing landscape of GenAI innovation in higher education.
  • Equip participants with strategies and tools to adapt to the changing landscape of GenAI innovation to support teaching and learning at their own institutions.

The program consists of two parts: 1) asynchronous work in Coursera and, 2) virtual facilitated learning sessions via Zoom. Completion of both parts is necessary to be awarded the professional development badge for the program.

Additionally, participants will enroll into the Facilitated Learning Network OERTX group. This invitation-only group will offer participants AI resources, a community of practice, and opportunities to review shared resources from institutions, contribute AI OER, and provide comments to inform future AI resources.
